Summer 2024 Community Organizing Workshop Series

Join us for four organizing sessions to learn more about community organizing, current critical issues and how to connect with community members to build our ability to make change together.

Show solidarity around the impacts of climate change, energy insecurity, economic and environmental injustice.

1)   Organizing 101: Approaches to Change and the Power of Organizing

​

Engage in our in-person workshop with activities and exercises that will help you understand and become a better community organizer. Pizza will be provided!

2)   Orientation to Energy Justice with Dr. Diana Hernández

​

Learn about the energy justice crisis from an environmental and housing justice expert!

3)   Community Mapping and Community Outreach

​

Learn about the importance and methods of community mapping, effective community outreach techniques, and how to identify key community stakeholders and resources.

4)   Community Outreach Follow up & Follow Through

​

Community organizing is about strengthening public relationships. Strong relationships are built on solidarity, dependability and follow through.

Wednesday, August 7 at 5:30pm at the George Wiley Center 32 East Ave., Pawtucket

This series will benefit you most if taken in its entirety, but each workshop can also stand on its own! We'd love to know which workshop(s) you're interested in attending; please fill out the google form linked above if you'd like to join us. This is not binding, merely to give us a rough idea of how many people may be in attendance for each workshop!
