Learn your rights, ways to get involved, and how we can increase access to basic needs for low-income Rhode Islanders.
Are you facing termination of your gas or electric service? Join us at this informational clinic to learn about your rights as a utility consumer and how we can work together to stop utility shut-offs in Rhode Island.
we offer practical support and strategize together about ways to defend and strengthen utility consumers' rights, (un)employment, SNAP, school breakfasts, youth jobs, living wages, public transportation, and other basic needs.
The George Wiley Center has fought for decades to strengthen utility rights in Rhode Island. A big part of our ongoing work has always been informing people of these rights to make sure we use them and continue to make them stronger! Meetings happen across the state in various locations, from libraries to community centers to churches.

We have created a practical guide that outlines Rhode Island Utility Consumer Rights, which will be shared in the workshop and is useful as a way to pass on this knowledge to others.
Contact us if you have any questions, are interested in attending a meeting, are interested I'm leading a chapter meeting, or if you would like someone from the George Wiley Center to make a 'Know Your Utility Rights' presentation to your organization.
