Our Local Chapters
The George Wiley Center coordinates the Rhode Island Campaign to Eliminate Childhood Poverty, which consists of eight chapters that regularly meet to plan and execute a variety of grassroots lobbying and non-violent protest tactics to create changes in local government and private institutions that will help eliminate poverty in their lives and in the lives of others in their community. All eight chapters gather for a statewide “leadership” meeting every six weeks. At this meeting, chapters report in and set the strategy for coordinated action on statewide issues.
